I arrived late and missed the first few songs of the Menzingers due to me being a dumb ass, taking the wrong exit from the tunnel and ending up on the south side of wonderful Bris-Vegas on the way to the Goldy!
I eventually found my way back to the venue and what i did catch was a great band and a reasonably receptive crowd. Tight tunes and cool hooks. New fan right here!
Face to Face wandered onstage and blasted through a killer set full of energetic So-Cal punk tunes including my all-time favourite FTF song "I Won't Lie Down", I was stoked to finally get a chance to hear this song live.
JIM IS BACK and he along with the other members of Pennywise tore the Brisbanites a new one good and proper!
A super-tight set chocked full of classics like Same Old Story, Society, Alien, Fuck Authority and of course the set closer Bro Hymm. The set also combined a few covers such as the Black Flag tune Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, Men at Work's Down Under (apparently only ever played in Australia) and the Ben E. King classic Stand By Me.
